Mackinac Island (aka: Fudge Island)

I went with my family for a few days to Mackinac City, Michigan and visited the island while we were there. Mackinac Island was an adorably unique place with beautifully preserved buildings and quant little shops. There were no cars, only bikes, horse drawn carriages and your own feet to get around the island. One of my favorite features of the island was the ridiculous amount of fudge shops!

This was one of the best ones we came across. It was my favorite kind of candy shop; adorable and delicious all at once. We purchased a few items to bring home to family and friends, but for ourselves picked up a huge pecan turtle that was as big as your fist. It was fantastic!

And there was delicious pie there as well yummm…
